Ever since I got back on snapchat, I was off it a year 😕, I discovered tastemade and I absolutely love almost all the recipes on there. I screenshot pretty much all the recipes or food so I can look at pics later and recreate them. It was the month of Ramadan, I got the ingredients for this recipe about a month ago, so the execution FINALLY happened. I love Ramen and there’s actually this specific brand of Ramen that I love called Maggi noodles but unfortunately I have to say this with a heavy heart it has been banned for high iron contents. Really though, with that stuff, high iron never hurt anyone……That was literally my childhood down the drain. I adapted Erwan Heussaff’s recipe from Tastemade and made Steak Ramen Stir Fry.
Steak Ramen Stir Fry
- 1 lb steak cut into small strips
- 1 red onion chopped
- 1 can baby corn
- 1 bunch of spring onions chopped
- 6 packs of ramen noodles
- 1 lime
- 1.5 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1.5 tspn chili powder
- 6 packets of cooked ramen (without any flavor)
- 1 lime
- 1.5 tspn brown sugar
- 1 lime
- 2 tspn sesame oil
- 1.5 tspn garlic ginger paste
Heat a large pan on medium high heat.
Cook the steak for 2-3 minutes. Add in all the vegetables and cook for 3-5 minutes. Add in ginger garlic paste and onion and cook for another couple minutes. Add in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, brown sugar, chili powder and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add in the ramen noodles and mix everything till fully incorporated. Squeeze on lime juice and garnish with peanuts or sliced water chestnuts for crunch.
Keep in mind ramen is best eaten soon as it’s cooked and you don’t want to overcook this, so it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to toss everything together.
